So you want to Tryout for Top Model 2012? Cycle 19 and cycle 20 may be casting soon!
America’s Next Top Model or as the show is commonly called, ANTM, is a top ranking modeling reality competition and the dream of just about every teen girl.
Top Model just aired cycle 17, cast cycle 18 some months back and may be casting cycle 19 for a 2013 airing in early to mid 2012.
Really, who wouldn’t want to be a Top Model? Luckily for all aspiring models the show has seasons they call cycles and do casting calls for the cycles a few times a year.
The Top Model casting calls are always nationwide and unlike many other popular shows that only hold tryouts in major cities like New York, Chicago and L.A., ANTM holds auditions in cities and towns large and small.
The Top Model audition schedule is normally very broad and the casting team goes to dozens of places all over the U.S.
Top Model premiered in 2003 and has been going very strong ever since. In 9 years the show has had 17 seasons or cycles with cycle 17 being the last one aired and cycle 17 was an all star addition that the show did not hold open tryouts for. Top Model cycle 18 will air in 2012 and that show was cast in mid 2011.
America’s Next Top Model is the CW’s highest rated reality series and has a enormous fan following all over the world. ANTM casting calls attract 10′s of thousands of aspiring models and with the prize packages offered its no wonder. The winner of Top Model normally gets a great contract with a Top modeling agency as well as multiple promotional spots. The runners up on the show have also done well in the past with many of them also getting top modeling contracts and modeling campaigns for top clients.
Plus Size model
Top Model has a star studded list of judges. Tyra Banks heads the panel and over the years top names in the industry have been on the show.
Top Model current and past judges include Nigel Barker, Kelly Cutrone, André Leon Talley, J. Alexander, Pavlína Po?ízková, Twiggy, Janice Dickinson, Nolé Marin, Eric Nicholson, Kimora Lee Simmons, and Beau Quillian.
Some of the judges such as Janice Dickinson had also gone on to do a modeling show of their own. Janice Dickinson went on to create a show based around her modeling agency called ‘The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency’. The show ran for 4 seasons but proved to be nowhere as popular as Top Model.
Part of what makes Top Model a TV sensation is the fact that any aspiring or wanna be model can audition to be on the show and in the past the show has cast petite models as well as plus sized models and even had a plus sized model win a cycle.
Since cycle 18 has already been cast, the next cycle that may be cast in 2012 for 2013 will be ANTM cycle 19.
Top Model usually begins airing in February or March and the again in September. Cycle 18 should begin airing between February and March 2012 and casting calls for the following cycle usually begin around the same time.

Cycle 17 of Top Model was interesting with its winner controversy and disqualification of the favorite over FaceBook and we are all waiting to see what cycle 18 has to bring.
