E! Scouted

Scouted is a new modeling show on the E! network that gives us a peek at how modeling auditions work and what happens as models tryout for fashion shows and in front of clothing designers and their ad agencies.

The E! Channel’s Scouted series is set in the modeling industry and is looking at models that want to get discovered. The show is currently running season 1 and casting for season 2 should be coming up very soon.

Maybe you to can be the next one being scouted and land a part on the E! channel’s Scouted reality show.

Unlike the very popular Top Model which shows the photoshoots, makeup sessions and glamorous photos, Scouted takes another approach and shows what happened before the models got hired, how they got the job, their meetings with model bookers and designers and the drama that unfolds in the models trying to land their 1st jobs.

Scouted is not a competition, there is nobody getting voted off. The show shows the models in their hometowns and their beginnings in the industry. Every episode showcases a few new models that are trying to get discovered and hope they get Scouted and picked for the modeling jobs they are applying to.

Scouted shows the girls meeting with their agents, meetings with their families and meetings with model scouts on their journey to the big time, New York fashion shoots.

Everyone has heard the stories of how models got discovered. This show brings it to TV. Maybe you will be the next new face Scouted. Stay tuned for any casting call information from the show.

America’s Net Top Model Tryouts 2012

ANTM Cycle 19 is now casting!

CW just announced that the Tyra Banks modeling competition, Top Model is currently looking for aspiring models to be contestants on the show.

Tryouts for Top Model take place 2 times a year and February and March 2012 is the time to apply for cycle 19. Cycle 19 is looking for models 5’7″ and above who are 18 and older. This cycle they are also looking for plus size models that have the same height restriction which is 5’7″ and above.

Unfortunately, ANTM cycle 19 will not be accepting petite models like other cycles have done in the past. I know many girls have been asking for a petite cycle, but it does not look like 2012 will be the year of the petite model. At least not where Tyra Banks and America’s Top Model is concerned.

As always, the show has great prizes for anyone that makes it on, the girls get photoshoots galore and a makeover while on the show. The show’s winner also gets a hefty modeling contract which is said to be valued at $100,000.

Cycle 19

So far a dozen plus cities and towns have been added to the schedule and more may be added to the casting schedule as time goes on. Casting directors for the show will be traveling to many different places in the next 2 months and locales on the list are Peoria, IL; San Diego, CA; Ashland, Kentucky; Montgomery, Alabama; Columbia, South Carolina; Odessa, Texas, Lubbock, Texas; Fort Wayne, Indiana, Tallahassee, Florida, Columbus, Richmond and Portland, ME.

Looks like the casting team will spend quite some time in the South and Midwest. We are hoping that Eastern and Northern locations get added soon as there are aspiring models all over the U.S. that would love a chance to audition for Top Model 2012!

So you want to Tryout for Top Model 2012? Cycle 19 and cycle 20 may be casting soon!

America’s Next Top Model or as the show is commonly called, ANTM, is a top ranking modeling reality competition and the dream of just about every teen girl.

Top Model just aired cycle 17, cast cycle 18 some months back and may be casting cycle 19 for a 2013 airing in early to mid 2012.

Really, who wouldn’t want to be a Top Model? Luckily for all aspiring models the show has seasons they call cycles and do casting calls for the cycles a few times a year.

The Top Model casting calls are always nationwide and unlike many other popular shows that only hold tryouts in major cities like New York, Chicago and L.A., ANTM holds auditions in cities and towns large and small.

The Top Model audition schedule is normally very broad and the casting team goes to dozens of places all over the U.S.

Top Model premiered in 2003 and has been going very strong ever since. In 9 years the show has had 17 seasons or cycles with cycle 17 being the last one aired and cycle 17 was an all star addition that the show did not hold open tryouts for. Top Model cycle 18 will air in 2012 and that show was cast in mid 2011.

America’s Next Top Model is the CW’s highest rated reality series and has a enormous fan following all over the world. ANTM casting calls attract 10′s of thousands of aspiring models and with the prize packages offered its no wonder. The winner of Top Model normally gets a great contract with a Top modeling agency as well as multiple promotional spots. The runners up on the show have also done well in the past with many of them also getting top modeling contracts and modeling campaigns for top clients.

Plus Size model

Top Model has a star studded list of judges. Tyra Banks heads the panel and over the years top names in the industry have been on the show.

Top Model current and past judges include Nigel Barker, Kelly Cutrone, André Leon Talley, J. Alexander, Pavlína Po?ízková, Twiggy, Janice Dickinson, Nolé Marin, Eric Nicholson, Kimora Lee Simmons, and Beau Quillian.

Some of the judges such as Janice Dickinson had also gone on to do a modeling show of their own. Janice Dickinson went on to create a show based around her modeling agency called ‘The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency’. The show ran for 4 seasons but proved to be nowhere as popular as Top Model.

Part of what makes Top Model a TV sensation is the fact that any aspiring or wanna be model can audition to be on the show and in the past the show has cast petite models as well as plus sized models and even had a plus sized model win a cycle.

Since cycle 18 has already been cast, the next cycle that may be cast in 2012 for 2013 will be ANTM cycle 19.

Top Model usually begins airing in February or March and the again in September. Cycle 18 should begin airing between February and March 2012 and casting calls for the following cycle usually begin around the same time.

Cycle 17 of Top Model was interesting with its winner controversy and disqualification of the favorite over FaceBook and we are all waiting to see what cycle 18 has to bring.

Cycle 16 of the reality Modeling competition is casting in Seattle Next week. ANTM is hosted by Tyra Banks and picks models from all walks of life to compete for a modeling contract on the CW network. The ladies / models all live together for the competition and travel during the course of the show for modeling shoots. The show was first launched in 2003 and has been very popular since.
